a Mature (brown) Coconut!

In my book, Vice Cream, I tell how to make coconut milk. This section is for those who want some
instruction on how to select and open a mature coconut, how to remove the "meat",
how to shred it, and how to make delicious fresh raw coconut milk!

Removing the "meat" (continued):

I give that piece a twist of the knife, popping out the new coconut chunk.

I continue cutting out pieces of coconut until I have taken all the coconut out of the shell.

The result is a bowl of similar sized chunks of fresh organic coconut meat.

You can now eat the coconut fresh, make shredded coconut to enjoy fresh or dried, or make some fresh coconut cream or milk!
